Like I said before, I have been an organizing machine lately! I am just finishing up some things that have been bothering me before we start school.
Last night, I was up until 2:30 A.M. organizing my email. I get so many emails daily that sometimes I get behind. If you emailed me and you did not get an answer back, please email me again. A lot of personal emails go to my junk file. Anyway, I went through YEARS of emails. Yes, years! But now I only have one page. I am so happy and feel like I lost a couple of pounds of stress from doing it. Do you ever get behind on your emails? How many pages do you need to go through?
So continuing on my organizing streak, today my daughter and I went through and organized all my make-up. Grace likes to help me organize but I think she loves to help with make-up. She already is talking about wearing some make-up on Halloween this year because she is going as Cinderella, lol!
We started by taking everything out and washing each item and placing them into piles. We had a “keep” and “garbage” pile. I threw out any old make-up and colors that I didn’t like anymore.
Then I went and found some old Tupperwares that I saved for organizing things.
I used a Longaberger basket with a lid that I spray painted black to store my make-up in. I keep the basket on my bathroom counter. I don’t use my drawers for make-up because I want them on my counter and away from kid’s reach.
This is how it turned out.
I grouped all my lip stuff together in a container.
In the back corner container I put foundation, mascara, and eye pencils.
Here are my eye shadows and blush. Did I mention that I LOVE make-up?!?!
Here are my pressed powders and bronzers.
Here is my favorite tool-my eye lash curler!!!
Look at that! I love it!!!!
I actually have another bin of make-up that are more “wintery” so I will switch to those when my tan starts to fade. But I don’t think that will happen soon because we are going to Florida shortly for our 7th Wedding Anniversary!!! I am so excited!
We also washed my make-up brushes. If you wear make-up and are not using brushes to apply them, get some now! It makes a huge difference! Please invest in a good quality set. I bought these 7 years ago and they are still in great shape. I think that these were $50 to give you an idea but totally worth it.
Makeup brushes can become coated not only with makeup residue, but also with your face’s oils and dead skin and that causes a great place for bacteria and that will decrease the life of your brush too. Plus, that can also cause skin problems and possible infection. It is recommended that you clean your makeup brushes after each use and that you give them a thorough cleaning at least once a week. Do I do that? No, I wish I did. I do it once in a while, but after I do, my make-up always goes on smoother and you can see the true color of the make-up because there’s no build up from other shades.
How to Wash your Make-Up Brushes
Run the brush under warm water
Massage in cleaner (use a mild cleaner like Basic H or a baby shampoo so you don’t damage the brushes)
Rinse out
Gently pat dry with a towel
Air Dry
I hope that you liked this and found it helpful.

Do you wash your brushes regularly?
Oh, before I forget, all of my make-up is a natural, non-toxic line called Minerelles from Shaklee. But sorry, they are starting to discontinue them. If you hurry, you might be able to get some so you can get the worlds BEST make-up EVER! And aren’t they so pretty too?
